Every other year we focus on our International School Exchanges in France and possibly Spain.                                                                                                 Advisors: Ms. McCloskey-Romero  kelly.mccloskey-romero@nexgenacademy.com and Ms. Hernández  natalie.hernandez@nexgenacademy.com

  • Griffin Robotics Mentorship:  Griffin Robotics Mentorship is a program that is available to all nex+Gen students for up to four years.  We compete annually in the First Robotics Competition's First Tech Challenge (FTC) that releases in September and competes regionally, nationally, and globally starting in January through March.  We meet five hours a week, Thursdays after school for two hours from 2:30-4:30PM and for three hours Saturday afternoons from 1:00-4:00PM.  Prior to competition the hours required to prepare often double.  Regional competitions can and will be held in other New Mexico cities as well as out-of-state.  We spend the spring months after competition with new recruits training in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, 3D Design and Printing, Computer Programming, and Leadership.  Juniors and Seniors may, depending on funding, also travel to STEM colleges and Universities as well as STEM intensive corporate sites to meet with STEM career professionals in the work environment.  Juniors and Seniors can earn mentorship credit by supporting one or more of these focus areas within the team trainings or may lead the entire program, depending upon experience and interest.  There are college scholarships available only to past participants in FTC as well as the additions to your resume as an extra-curricular activity.  This can separate you from the many straight-A students competing for college entrance and scholarships and in addition to academic knowledge, there are gains that involve team management and leadership skills.                                         Advisor: Mr. Davis ford.davis@nexgenacademy.com phone: 505-400-5529
